RAY WILLIAMS
Facility Assistant
Ray is responsible for the logistics of the agency’s office. He manages onsite technical support, shipping and receiving, supplies, and corporate transportation. In his technical support capacity, Ray maintains all copy machines, printers, audio-visual equipment, telephony, and information technology. As the agency’s shipper and receiver, Ray handles the daily processing of incoming and outgoing mail along with express shipments and deliveries from USPS, FedEx and UPS. Ray is responsible for office supply inventory, and he is the primary operator of the agency’s vehicle.
Professional Background
Ray joined the Rhode Island Commerce Corporation in 2004 when almost-daily trips to the Quonset Development Corporation in North Kingstown were necessary and the corporation had a full-time information tech on site. Since 2007, Ray has assumed most of the technical responsibilities. His exemplary driving record and technical knowledge have made Ray a valued part of the agency. Ray has 30 years of experience in the telecommunications industry.
Education
Ray holds an associate’s degree in applied science/telecommunications from the Community College of Rhode Island. He supports the Native American community throughout New England, and he recently was honored by the Massachusetts Center for Native American Awareness for his continuous and unwavering support.
