KAREN STEWART

Renewable Energy Fund Program Manager

Karen Stewart serves as the Renewable Energy Manager. In this role, Karen is responsible for overseeing the Renewable Energy Fund programming, including facilitating workshops and webinars; engaging with grantees, clients, and installers; and overseeing the distribution of renewable energy grants for both commercial and residential use. Additionally, Karen serves as liaison with the Office of Energy Resources and a board member of the Distributed Contract Board.

Professional Background

Karen has been part of the growing renewable energy sector in RI since 2000. She was a founding partner of SolarWrights, an “earth-friendly” homes design/build company and went on to run regional energy challenge campaigns in MA, CT, VT, and RI for several non-profit organizations. Karen serves on the Distributed Contract Board as a residential renewable energy advisor to the PUC and most recently, Karen worked with Commerce RI’s Business Advisory team as a COVID Outreach Associate.

Education

Karen graduated with a BA in Public Policy from SUNY Albany.
