Senior Business Advisor – Government Procurement

Jeff Brant serves as the Senior Business Advisor- Government Procurement for Rhode Island Commerce Corporation. In this role, he plays a critical part in Rhode Island Commerce’s efforts to identify and help a wide range of businesses enter and participate in the defense supply chain contracting process. The program provides education and training to ensure that all businesses become capable of participating in Federal, State, and Local government contracts.

Professional Background

After graduating from Middletown High School (RI) in 2006, Jeff enlisted in the U.S. Navy as a Logistics Specialist where he first served at sea with Military Sealift Command located in Norfolk VA. Jeff then continued to serve at sea onboard Special Projects Patrol Squadron One (VPU-1) located out of Jacksonville, FL. Then transferred to shore duty at Commander, Strike Fighter Wing, Atlantic (CSFWL) assisting with training, and equipping Strike Fighter squadrons to conduct carrier-based and support missions. Jeff then transferred to the USS Mitscher (DDG-57) and USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN-72) and finished 16 years of active military service as Leading Chief Petty Officer on board Fleet Readiness Center, Detachment Norfolk, VA.

Jeff is currently still serving in the Navy Reserves as a Senior Chief/Senior Enlisted Advisor for Joint Reserve Forces, DLA Aviation in Richmond, VA. Most recently, Jeff was a Financial Planner at Northwestern Mutual.
