Maria is responsible for the development, maintenance, and distribution of policies and procedures of all Financial Service systems, managing the application flow for tracking and managing finance applications, post-approval follow-up, and maintaining relationships with partners deploying funds through the State Small Business Credit Initiative (SSBCI). She also prepares the required reports to ensure compliance with all federal grants, manages the loan application pipeline process, and maintains relationships with borrowers to guarantee their compliance with loan terms.
Professional Background
Prior to Commerce, Maria worked for over 20 years in the banking industry. Throughout her professional career, she held customer-facing roles at Rhode Island Credit Union and supervisory and administrative roles as a Commercial Loan Administrator at Coastal1 Credit Union. Her experience has allowed her to develop strong customer service skills, accountability, reliability, and pride in her work. Maria is a professional who works with a sense of integrity and transparency.
