Vice President of Business Development and Investments

Will serves as the Vice President of Business Development and Investments for the Rhode Island Commerce Corporation. In this role, he manages the business attraction life cycle for inbound job creation and investment, ensuring the full suite of economic development tools are available to support Rhode Island businesses.

Professional Background

With over twelve years of experience as a location advisory consultant, Will provides clients with a strong proficiency and strategic vision in site selection and economic development. Will has extensive experience in the management and execution of creative public incentive agreements involving multiple stakeholder groups in jurisdictions across the country. Cox has led projects for a diverse set of clients, which includes a concentration in the aerospace, advanced manufacturing, and financial sectors.

Will has led project and client management for two independent public incentive firms in both Washington, DC and New York City. This background brings a wealth of experience and relationships at the intersection of federal programs and state economic development. Prior to incentive consulting, Will worked for Lockheed Martin Corporation supporting economic development projects for the Mission Systems and Training business areas.

Education

Will received a B.A. in political science and American studies with honors from Hobart College.
