Development Districts
Providence Innovation and Design District
Established in 2011, the I-195 Redevelopment District Commission was tasked with revitalizing 26 acres in downtown Providence following the relocation of Interstate 195. Today, nearly 7 acres remain available for redevelopment.
The Commission’s mission is to develop the former 195 land in Providence to create a thriving innovation district and neighborhood that attracts investment and fosters economic growth and opportunity.
