The Sponsor, Case Mead Association LLC, is proposing the rehabilitation of the historic Case Mead building located at 68-76 Dorrance Street in downtown Providence. This proposal intends to preserve the historical building and repurpose its current vacant space to provide more efficient downtown housing options for students and young professionals. The project will consist of the rehabilitation of the exterior of the building, the development of 44 residential micro lofts, and the construction of a second egress. Total project costs are estimated at $7.7 million.

The Sponsor has requested up to a maximum of $2,179,977 in Rebuild Rhode Island Tax Credits, which will be issued over five years.

The Sponsor, the Case Mead Association LLC, is an entity managed by Joseph R. Paolino, Jr., the former mayor of Providence. He also serves as the Managing Partner of Paolino Properties, focusing on development and acquisitions. Paolino Properties develops and manages commercial retail, office, and multifamily space across Rhode Island, including the Vanderbilt Residences at Brown & Howard Wharf in Newport, the 77 acre Parkade Shopping Center in Cranston, and the new police station in Cranston. Paolino Properties also owns significant office space in the downtown Providence including 100 Westminster Street, a 20-story downtown office tower, and two smaller properties at 30 Kennedy Plaza.
