MATTHEW TOUCHETTE
Director of Public Affairs
Matthew Touchette serves as Director of Public Affairs. In this role, Matt handles communications activities and acts as the primary point of contact for media, state house representatives, and the public for both the Executive Office of Commerce (EOC) and the Rhode Island Commerce Corporation.
Prior to working at Rhode Island Commerce, Matt handled communications and marketing for a Providence real estate investment company. He is a 15-year veteran of the broadcast television news industry and was part of several teams that successfully increased viewership by creating new and innovative ways of presenting the news to the public. The last five years of his time in the industry were spent in the Boston market. While working at WFXT-TV (FOX), he earned three Boston/New England Emmy Award nominations. Prior to his time in Boston, Matt spent 10 years covering the news in Providence including eight years at WPRI-12, winning two Associated Press Awards for election coverage and Red Sox World Series coverage.
Matt is a lifelong Rhode Islander who grew-up in West Warwick and enjoys traveling, watching Boston sports and spending time outdoors with his dog Charlie, no matter what the season.
