Donna Sams has over 25 years of organization development, change management and operations experience in several industries, including: health care, retail, high tech/information management, and public sector. She was an Information Technology Executive for 15 years in two Fortune 50 companies. In that capacity, she successfully planned and executed the turnaround of several significant technology projects and organizations. She was the executive that led the technology programs/initiatives to achieve compliance with HIPAA and Sarbanes Oxley regulations. Donna also led the technology conversion required for Y2K. She was consistently recognized for effectively developing strong leaders.
During the several years since retiring from a corporate executive role, Donna has done organization and team development, executive/leadership coaching, training and facilitation in companies of various sizes in several industries. She has been a requested speaker at numerous conferences and meetings.
Donna is passionate about giving back and paying forward. She has volunteered her time, resources, and expertise to address issues such as Alzheimer’s disease, diabetes, childhood literacy, heart disease, and women representation in the field of technology, to name a few. She has served on several non-profit boards and received several recognitions and awards. Donna is currently serving on the Rhode Island Commerce Board, the Year Up Rhode Island Advisory Board, the Sophia Academy Board of Directors, and the Clark University President’s Advisory Council on Diversity and Inclusion.
Donna has a BA in Sociology/Psychology and an MS in Human Services with a concentration in Counseling and Divinity.
