DEVELOPMENT DISTRICTS

I-195 Providence Innovation and Design District

This vibrant, new urban area is transforming former highway land into Providence’s newest neighborhood.

The I-195 Redevelopment District Commission markets, oversees, and sells land made available in downtown Providence as a result of the relocation of Interstate 195.

The Commission’s mission is to foster economic development on Rhode Island’s I-195 land (and beyond), and to generate job creation opportunities that embrace the city’s demographics by creating an environment that encourages high-value users to build well-designed structures that enhance the value of surrounding neighborhoods and augment the sense of place. The Quonset Business Park is the premiere business park in New England and one of the largest in the Northeast. It is home to approximately 200 companies, which collectively employ over 11,000 people in a variety of industries. The business park covers more than 3,200 acres, including space for recreation and open space use. Advantageously located near the population centers of the Northeast on Rhode Island’s Narragansett Bay, the Quonset Business Park has world-class infrastructure and is rich in amenities, location, and history.

The Port of Davisville at Quonset is one of the top ten auto importers in North America.
