Blount Fine Foods
Project
Blount Fine Foods is rapidly growing as the demand for fresh soups and prepared foods continues to expand. In order to keep up with this increased demand, Blount needs to install new production lines in its manufacturing network, making more soup, mac & cheese, and other products sold under the Blount and Panera Bread brands, as well as under store brands. The Applicant is proposing to upgrade 9,000 SF within a historic 38,000 SF owned building in Warren, RI to accommodate a new soup/prepared meal production line; budget also includes major building and site upgrades. Blount Foods own other production facilities in MA, TX, and OR. Project needs to be completed before next “soup season”, which starts in fall 2020.
Approved Incentive
The Sponsor has requested up to a maximum of $1,000,000 in Rebuild Rhode Island Tax Credits and Sales and Use Tax reimbursement.
Sponsor Description
The Applicant is a prepared food and soup manufacturer that produces wholesale frozen and fresh soups under the Blount brand as well as Panera bread.
