BROADBAND & DIGITAL EQUITY
Rhode Island has launched a broadband initiative and we need your help!
Rhode Island Commerce has begun a state-wide broadband initiative to leverage historic levels of federal funding to close the digital divide in the state. This funding means deploying broadband to unserved and underserved locations, making broadband more affordable for our residents and businesses, and encouraging digital equity efforts.
Your feedback will inform our broadband initiative to help ensure all the members of our communities have access to affordable broadband and Rhode Island remains a leader in digital connectivity into the future. Here’s how you can help:
Rhode Island Broadband Strategic Plan
Review and comment on the draft Rhode Island Broadband and Digital Equity Strategic Plan.
This draft document describes the digital connectivity goals for the state, the principles guiding our efforts, and action items to begin implementation.
Rhode Island Broadband Speed Test and Survey
This data will help us understand where broadband is available, at what speeds, as well as the data needs of our state’s residents and businesses. The speed test and survey only takes a few minutes, and the more data we have the better we can understand the state’s connectivity needs.
