Vice President of Business DevelopmentDick Soule serves as the Vice President of Business Development for the Rhode Island Commerce Corporation. He is responsible for business attraction planning and implementation with a focus on technology, aerospace and defense, the blue economy and any other business verticals that are priorities. Dick will also focus on attracting international companies to consider RI as a place for business.
Prior to joining the corporation, Dick was part of the launch team for a children’s streaming service founded by Common Sense Media. He has worked in startups that include an AR/VR production company and a gaming company based in China. Dick was the first head of global sales and strategy for YouTube (Google) and held a number of sales leadership roles at YouTube. Dick has lived and worked overseas as the head of Southeast Asian sales for CNN then became the VP for MTV Asia (Singapore). Dick was also the CRO for a travel start up based in London, Culture Trip. Dick began his media career working for NASA’s official publication then moved to McGraw Hill to run the Chinese Aviation titles. He was also the President of International Marketing Service for IDG’s global magazines.
Dick holds multiple advisory and board positions in Brooklyn and RI based nonprofits including The Brooklyn Public Library, RI Hub, BRIC as well as advising a number of international media startups.
Dick holds a BA in Semiotics from Brown University.
