Michaela Cohoon - Rhode Island Commerce

MICHAELA COHOON

Policy and Program Advisor 

Michaela Cohoon currently serves as a Policy and Program Advisor for the Rhode Island Commerce Corporation. In this role, she works with the Commerce team to enhance Commerce’s capacity for creating and evaluating proposed policies and programming, as well as managing strategic projects for the agency.

Professional Background
Michaela joins Commerce RI from a diverse background in large-scale event production, political advance work, corporate sales, and most recently as the Executive Director of the Jamestown Chamber of Commerce. Her focus in each step of her career has been connected to community and stakeholder engagement. Her work with the Jamestown Chamber during the ongoing pandemic increased her passion for small business support and growth. She is honored to be joining Commerce RI to provide support to small businesses across Rhode Island.

Education
Michaela holds a BA from Hartwick College, a MA from University of Maryland College Park, and a Finance Director certificate from the Arena Academy.
