Business Development Executive
John Riendeau spearheads special business development initiatives and projects and deals with in-state business retention while responding to out-of-state business inquiries. He is the agency’s lead in the defense and manufacturing sectors, working with their respective trade groups in advancing policy for growth and expansion. John manages numerous federal grants for projects in defense, manufacturing, maritime transportation, site development and industry planning.
John has been with the corporation since October 1988, starting as an environmental planner and transitioning to marketing and management positions. John serves on the Rhode Island Defense Economy Planning Commission, the board of directors for the Southeastern New England Defense Industry Alliance (SENEDIA), the RI Sea Grant Advisory Council, the RI Seafood Marketing Collaborative, the URI sponsored Port Planning and Policy program, and manages the RI Foreign Trade Zone 105.
John holds a bachelor of science degree in Resource Development and Urban Affairs from the University of Rhode Island, and is a graduate of Leadership Rhode Island, class of 2006.
