Business Engagement Specialist
As a Business Engagement Specialist, Charlene provides services to in-state companies at any stage of business. She works with Rhode Island Commerce staff, state and government agencies, and external partners, to address customer needs in operations, finance, and regulatory/permitting issues. She provides one-on-one consultation services with new and existing businesses and assistance in navigating the business resources and programs of Rhode Island Commerce and external agencies. She has previously worked in the RI Apex Accelerator Program as a Procurement Specialist assisting businesses with government contracting.
Professional Background
Charlene joined RI Commerce Corporation in 2015 as Coordinator for the Business Advisory Group and then moved to RI PTAC as a Procurement Specialist. Prior to RI Commerce she worked in Development at Lifespan for Hasbro Children’s Hospital supporting their fundraising and events programs.
Education
Charlene graduated from the Community College of Rhode Island.
