Director of Stakeholder Engagement and Deputy Director of Communications
Brian Hodge serves as the Director of Stakeholder Engagement and Deputy Director of Communications. He works closely with the Director of Communications and Stakeholder Engagement and the Chief Marketing Officer to develop and maintain the organizational brand identity and strategy, generate and pitch story ideas, and serve as an organizational and project spokesperson to the media and the public.
Prior to joining the corporation, Brian served as the director of communications for Gray Matter Marketing, a Rhode Island-based marketing and events agency specializing in large events such as road races and craft beer festivals. In this role, Brian spearheaded public relations and social media campaigns directly leading to placements in a variety of national and targeted publications as well as sell-out events. Before joining Gray Matter Marketing, Brian worked as the communications and social media manager for the Providence Warwick Convention & Visitors Bureau (PWCVB). There he helped coordinate the agency’s public relations program and founded the agency’s robust and award-winning social media presence. During his time at the PWCVB, Providence was named “America’s Favorite City” by the readers of Travel + Leisure magazine.
Brian has been named one of “30 Under 30” by Destination Marketing Association International, one of “40 Under 40” by Connect magazine, and Tourism Employee of the Year by the Rhode Island Hospitality Association. He also serves on the board of directors for the Public Relations Society of America, Southeastern New England chapter.
Brian graduated with honors from Marist College in Poughkeepsie, NY. He has also studied at the Dublin Business School and the Rhode Island School of Design.
