John Riendeau is responsible for overall large-scale business development, spearheading special initiatives/projects and responding to out-of-state business inquiries. He is the agency’s lead in the defense and manufacturing sectors, working with their respective trade groups in advancing policy for growth and expansion. John is currently managing four federal grants totaling over $22 million in operating budgets for projects in defense, manufacturing, site development and industry planning.
John has been with the corporation since October 1988, starting as an environmental planner and transitioning to marketing and management positions. John serves on the Rhode Island Defense Economy Planning Commission, the board of directors for the Southeastern New England Defense Industry Alliance (SENEDIA) and the Commerce Corporation representative to the Rhode Island Manufacturing Collaborative.
John holds a bachelor of science degree in Resource Development and Urban Affairs from the University of Rhode Island, and is a graduate of Leadership Rhode Island, class of 2006.
